Extending a Helping Hand: Welcoming the Pukhov Family

This is a heartfelt plea—one that calls upon our collective compassion and the spirit of Christian love. There is a Ukrainian family, the Pukhovs, who are ready to embark on a journey to the United States. Their story is one of resilience, faith, and hope, but they need our help.

The Pukhov Family

The Pukhovs were worship leaders in their church in Ukraine until the ravages of war forced them to flee to Poland in search of safety. Now, with temporary status in Poland, they have received travel authorization to come to the US under the Uniting for Ukraine program. Their hearts are full of hope, but they face an urgent need—a place to call home upon their arrival.

Our Call to Action

As churches, we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ. We have an opportunity to live out our faith by extending hospitality to this family. Several churches in our conference have empty parsonages, and I believe we can partner together to make a difference. By providing a safe haven for the Pukhovs, we fulfill God’s command to care for our brothers and sisters in need.

How You Can Help

  1. Consider Your Parsonage: If your church has an available parsonage, could it become a temporary home for the Pukhovs? Imagine the impact we could make by opening our doors to this family.
  2. Spread the Word: Share this message with your congregation. Encourage discussion and prayer about how your church can participate in this ministry of welcome.
  3. Contact Us: Reach out to me or our Cornerstone Ministries team. Let’s explore how we can collectively support the Pukhovs during this critical time.

Blessings Await

By housing the Pukhovs, we not only provide shelter but also create a space for healing, connection, and transformation. Let us be the embodiment of Christ’s love, welcoming them as our own family.

Please join me in prayerful consideration, and let’s respond swiftly. Together, we can make a lasting impact—one that echoes across borders and transcends language.
